This tie-rod end is for the outer long rod of the steering system on VW Beetles built from 1961 to 1968 models (those with a damper eye). This has a lefthand thread - check that it is compatible with your existing set-up before ordering. Can be retro fitted on Beetles from 1946 to 1961 if you add a steering damper J14485 and bracket J35272
