Responding to demand, Hobbyweld was launched nationally in April 2011 to cater for the DIY user who could not financially justify renting gas cylinders. Hobbywelds's range initially included 10 professional gas mixes and a core range of welding consumables. They have continued to grow throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland offering gas cylinders at affordable prices with no rental charges.
