The mechanical pump was a feature of all upright engines from 1973 that were fitted with an alternator. Supplied with gaskets, our replacement part fits all petrol-engined Beetles, 1973–1998, and 1600cc T2 Bay 1973–1979. For satisfied JK customer Rowan Coupe – who gave it a five-star review – it was “A good little part that does the job brilliantly”. If you have upgraded your earlier engine with an alternator, you will need to replace your fuel pump with one of these. Please check that you have the correct pushrod – this should be 100mm long.
