Earlier this summer Mat from the JK Team headed up to Viva Skeg Vegas 2025, and returned with a camera full of photos and a glowing report of his new favourite VW show!

If you haven't been before, Viva Skeg Vegas is one of the most popular classic VW shows in the UK, and takes place at Revesby Country Park in Lincolnshire each August.

The show started off in a car park in Skegness, and has grown to become one of the highlights of the show season and grows each year. Viva Skeg Vegas offers a unique, chilled-out, and family-friendly event with something for everyone!

Mat very kindly took the time to write up a quick blog and share his photos with us, so here's how Mat gone on at Viva Skeg Vegas, in his own words:

Skeg Vegas 2025 – a big show with a comforting “home grown” vibe!

Well, what can I say but WOW! This year's Skeg Vegas was the best ever!
It was organised to perfection by Toby, Sally, and their team but very much had the laid back and friendly vibe of a village fete (and I mean that in a most complimentary way), serving the VW community to perfection and showing it at its best.

JK were part sponsors of the show and supported the Show and Shine on Sunday morning. Incredibly showy and shiny it was too – a most impressive collection on show from the most sublime to the most delightfully ridiculous!

My partner Sonia and I drove up in the JK T6 “Swamper” towing the great white tardis of a trailer with the precious Jack, the 56 Millie Miglia Beetle, which was part of the Raced and Rare exhibit at the show.

The show location was Revesby Country Park in Lincolnshire and was the perfect countryside backdrop for the grand event. The site centred on the Big Top circus tent where the all-important bar was housed and the live music staged, both during the day and into the dark hours!  There was just the right amount of trade outlets present to not make the event seem too commercial and detract from the overall laid back “camp out feel”

The whole atmosphere was best described as that of a festival, family friendly and relaxed a real triumph and a credit to the organisers.

All types of van, bus and car were well represented and it was great to see some non VW vehicles there too, especially the 1952 Tempo Matador camper conversion, one of only 1300 built in Hamburg and one of only 10 known to be in exitance today, a rare beast indeed. It was a firm show favourite and one of the worthy winners in the show and shine.

The overall winner was a beautifully restored 1962 Type 3 Notchback belonging to Steve Murphy. It was a good weekend for the type 3 marque with a lovely sun bleached Squareback with an immaculate interior and sound body oozing with character taking a prize too, my favourite vehicle of the show.

Also of note was the high-top split screen Osram van.

Whilst attending the show we were very kindly put up by Alex of the fastest van in the world fame. We stayed at Layby Lincs, where there is a collection of 5 classic vehicle-themed accommodation lots, complete with wood fired hot tubs in a beautiful secluded setting, more of which I will comment on in a future article, as it deserves special mention!

In summary of the weekend, I have to say that of all the shows I have attended over the years that Skeg Vegas is now my firm favourite and definitely on my calendar for next year.
Possibly the most fun and chilled show we have ever attended, and can't wait for next year!
