New Project Vehicles for the JK Team!

It’s no secret that there are a lot of classic and modern VWs belonging to the JK Team, which are often parked up outside JK HQ or seen at different shows & events around the UK.

There’s been a few more added to the roster over the last few weeks, including the red VW T2 Bay which we’ve had on display with EMPI at European Bug-In over the weekend, and three of our colleagues from the Warehouse Team picking up project vehicles that they’re eager to get stuck into!

JK’s Lifted Look T2 Bay

You might have seen our new 1971 T2 Bay on the roads, or on EMPI’s stand at European Bug-In this weekend. We’ve been working on it as part of our celebrations for Just Kampers’ 35th birthday in September, and have really enjoyed customising the Bay to become a real head-turner with all sorts of accessories and modifications on it.

As well as the more obvious changes to the ride height, rear arches, and tyres, we also fitted a brand new 1941cc long block engine from EMPI, complete with a full suite of EMPI engine accessories, which made driving the bus from JK to EBI an absolute dream.

Luke’s 888 Special T4

Luke has been with us for ten years now, and works in our Goods In department. He’s recently got around to starting work on this 2003 888 Special VW T4 Transporter, which was previously owned by his dad who passed away in 2018.

The T4 was owned from new by Luke’s dad, who had always planned to convert it into a camper, and so Luke has started work on getting the Transporter turned into a campervan.

Ian’s UVA Fugitive 2

Ian Brown works on the other side of our warehouse as part of our Goods In team, and has recently picked up a UVA Fugitive 2 which is based on a VW Beetle.

Ian rescued the Fugitive from a field, where it’s been rusting away for years, and has big plans for it! He’ll be replacing a lot of the rusted metalwork with panels he’s made himself, and is aiming to turn it into a tribute to the Fugitive which was featured in Custom Car Magazine in the 1980s.

Closing in on 35,000 TrustPilot reviews!

We’ve got nearly 35,000 reviews from verified customers on TrustPilot, which is amazing!

At the time of writing we’re on about 34,890 reviews, all from verified customers using TrustPilot, so you know they’re from real people.

We’ll be doing something pretty special when we hit 35,000 reviews, since it lines up nicely with 35 years of Just Kampers, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram, and are signed up to our email newsletter so you don’t miss out!

Thank you again to all of you who have taken the time to leave us a review. It’s absolutely invaluable to hear back from you about what we’re doing well, and where we need to improve, so we really appreciate all of the reviews and feedback that we get.

She's a Survivor: Dotty the Oval Goes to Classics at the Clubhouse

Earlier this month Caz from the JK Team took her beloved 1955 Oval Beetle, Dotty, to Classics at the Clubhouse and parked her up in the Survivors Display at the show.

We asked Caz about the Survivors Display and how it felt to have Dotty included as part of the show, and she wrote us a great blog about it.

JK Show Report: Classics at the Clubhouse 2024

It wasn’t just Caz and Dotty who headed to the Sandford Springs golf course for Classics at the Clubhouse this month – a few of us turned up in our Beetles and spent the day milling around, chatting to people, and enjoying one of our favourite classic VW shows of the year!

You can read more about Classics at the Clubhouse, and see some of the photos from our photographer extraordinaire Nick Proctor, in our JK Show Report.
