Daisy - 1970 Tintop Early Bay LHD

Thanks for looking at 'Daisy' She is a great, solid 1970 ‘tintop’. Originally from California she has been restored and given a new lease of life. She runs twin carbs on a 1641 engine. She was refitted inside with new upholstery (full width rock n roll Rusty Lee bed) by VDub Trimshop. She has been lowered by Type 2 Detectives and has new shocks all round with adjustable spring plates on the rear. She has been completely rewired professionally with the addition of heated front seats and windscreen (new 75amp alternator). The headlining has been replaced with a ply finish. She was insulated and soundproofed before being fitted out. Originally she was a delux microbus with ‘leaky quarter lights’ but these have been replaced by louvres on the centre windows on both sides and a solid window on the rear near side. Type 2 Detectives refurbed the front beam and added adjusters and a disc brake upgrade. She has had new CV joints and rear bearings, along with new brake hoses all round and rear cylinders. The fuel tank was removed and cleaned and all new hoses fitted. They also carried out a waxoyl cavity treatment to the underside and tidied up many other odds and ends. There is an electronic speedo and rev counter recently fitted. When we had the disc brakes done the old alloys didn’t fit the new stud size so we replaced them with a set of SSP Torque polished ones, I think, they do add to the surf bus image. The paint finish could best be described as ‘satin’ so again adding to that retro look. There is still room for anyone to add their ‘stamp’ and make her their own.
