1985 VW T25 Kameo Hi-Top 1.9 Autohomes

Current Mileage: 105,000 Currently insured for £16,000 based on VWT2OC valuation. I have owned this van since 2008, and when I bought her, she had been very sympathetically resprayed, so the body work and chassis was in tip top condition. In a 2015 Vehicle valuation by the VWT2OC, she scored ‘Excellent’ for ‘original bodywork’, condition of ‘original chassis’, and the ‘original interior’. Since 2008 then I have only had to do minor body work repairs in the obvious places, i.e., a couple of the seams and beneath the windows, and I have carefully maintained the interior. I have had years of relatively trouble free ‘motoring’, other than the expected wear and tear, and apart from a couple of times, generally passes the MOT first time. She has a currently MOT valid until May 2022 with no advisories. As van was inactive for early part of 2020, I had a general vehicle health check done; all issues identified have now been resolved (Coolant leak, Engine leak and Wheel bearings). Unfortunately, she had to have a new engine fitted in 2021, which has now been run in (500 miles) and serviced (Oct 2021). I say unfortunately, as I had always used the VW recommended coolant for the 1.9 flat four engine (to prevent corrosion): we think the previous owners may not have done. Recon engine fitted by BUGerdVWs, along with a replacement exhaust system I also had the electrical wiring checked by a specialist company, who also fitted a split charger to the leisure battery charging circuit. In July 2021, in preparation for selling the van I commissioned a Pre-Sale Report from DubMaster (valued at £500). The overall grade given was a B/C, and it should be noted that the majority of the ‘Cs related to cosmetic bodywork repairs, all of which have now been undertaken. I have all original paperwork relating to maintenance and repairs available, and rather than listing all repairs carried out I am and happy to answer specific queries prior to viewing. In addition, I have the original purchase paperwork from VW, Autohomes and Zig. Due to a change of circumstance, I had been planning to sell the van in early 2020, then you know what came along which has delayed the process… Based in north Wiltshire.
