Bertie bus 1973 Bay Window
Bertie bus is 1973 T2 bay window. Bertie has been a great bus and has taken us all over the UK and Scotland where we have loved every minute of our adventures with him. Due to now wanting to travel into Europe and further we have now purchased a new camper so sadly its time for Bertie to find a new home. We brought Bertie as a work in progress project and have done a lot of work and spent a lot of money on him over the last 3 years, Mechanical and structurally Bertie is sound and drives lovely but he is in need of some paint restoration work to areas of him, the front left wheel arch, front bumper valance, engine lid & roof with some various small areas around the body that are showing signs of his age, they do not effect the way he drives and would not be an MOT failure. Bertie has done 54,500 miles (Mileage may increase slightly as we are still using him) and the current new engine has done approximately 5000 miles. Bertie comes with Smev twin hob & sink with electric tap 12v split charge relay ¾ width rock & roll bed with quality memory foam. full electric hook-up with internal 240v and 12v sockets 240v/12v Fridge LED interior lights 4kw diesel night heater with controller 12v 110ah leisure battery Rear bench seat with 2 seat belts. Mechanical Work carried out on Bertie New 1600 twin port engine with single carb (done approx. 5000 miles) New clutch New coil, HT leads and spark plugs, points and condenser New fuel lines, fuel pump and filter Fuel tank reconditioned with new breather pipes, fuel sender unit, Gauge voltage regulator, filler pipe and retaining straps Carburettor cleaned New rear brakes both sides New front r/h brake caliper New rear torsion bar bushes and rubbers New exhaust New front left wheel bearing New steering damper New leisure and starting batteries Interior Work carried out on Bertie New pop top canvas New pop top mechanism springs New headlining through out We will be sad to see Bertie go as he has been a great bus and given us lots of great memories, Bertie is not perfect but this has been reflected in the price but very usable and full of charm that makes for good fun camping and frequent use, or to invest in improvements that will increase the value of this very collectible camper. Bertie has many more years ahead of him and hopefully the new owners will enjoy him as much as we have.
