Wonderful Devon Moonraker with reconditioned engine - PRICE DROP!

For sale is our 1981 VW Devon Camper. It is now eligible for classic vehicle status which means that it will be exempt from the ULEZ charge, tax and MOTs. The vehicle has 116,062 miles on the clock. The van has the wonderful air-cooled 2 litre engine which had a full reconditioning by the VW Engine Company in 2020. Invoices for this totalling £4,394 are available. The front suspension (springs and shocks) were replaced in 2019. The vehicle tracks very well (and offers a far better driving experience than some other VW vans!) Invoice totalling £982 available). The vehicle is incredibly clean underneath and rust free aside from a few minor bits of surface rust on the topside. The vehicle is taxed and has a MOT through to early August. This van has been lovingly cared for and I am only the second owner in its history. The previous owner garaged the vehicle during the 38 years he was the owner. The interior is all original and correct and is in very good condition. The three way fridge can be a bit temperamental on gas and has trouble lighting. We replaced the 1990s radio with a dual knob DAB Bluetooth hands free and streaming radio from the Classic Car Stereo company which looks correct in the vehicle. It has a MOT A new battery was fitted recently. Things that need attention… We had someone try to steal the van and they had caused some damage to the driver's side door. This will need attention. Please see the photos and do ask if you have any questions. The blue ribbon under the dash could do with being replaced. Gowesty make a kit that replaces this with a more resilient system. Currently the alternator light does not work despite it functioning and charging the battery. The pop-top is in very good condition although the struts could do with replacing. I have purchased two of these with the intention to fit for this summer season but will now leave that for the new owner.
