This weekend was the first VolksWorld Show for a number of years, due to reasons we’re all far too familiar with. We had an amazing time at the event, and it was great to catch up with so many of you and hear what you’ve been up to since we saw you last.

Heidi Padoin from the JK Team was across the event with her boyfriend Josh Richards, taking photos for Just Kampers and their side hustle Vamp Original. She wrote the below for us, to bring you up to speed if you didn’t get to head along to VolksWorld yourself this year/

This weekend me and Josh had a great time popping over to Esher to see the Volksworld Show! We were lucky enough to get early entry to the event to grab some pictures whilst the rooms weren’t too crowded.

It was great to see such a large show, specific to a certain type of vehicle. There were only a few different vehicle models there, due to the fact it was an Air-cooled VW event, but the variety between each vehicle was mesmerising!

One in particular that took my eye was a bright pink Kharman Ghia which was so clean it looked like it must have been wrapped up in silk for transportation, it was ridiculous!

They showed the Ghia, named Jekyll and Hide, jacked up with two wheels off and you could see down to the wheel bearing. It was honestly so clean, it could have been worn as jewellery. Everything at the event was a work of art within its own right.

On the way down we were lucky enough to see a few others on their way to the show, a few split-screen buses and a Beetle! It’s always cool to see others driving to a show, and gets you hyped up before you get there.

The show is a spectacle and a great family friendly event. I bumped into Weener and a few others from the JK Team, and it was good to say hi to them. The weather was great, the sun was out and even though this can make it quite difficult for pictures, it made for an excellent atmosphere.

We managed to catch up with the owner of the Outlaw Racers Porsche Speedster replica and he let us move the barriers so that we could get a few really intricate shots of the interior. We felt really lucky because had we not bumped into him, that’s not an opportunity we would have had!

Josh and I also had the opportunity to meet a few of the vehicle owners throughout the show. There was one tan/brown split-screen in the outside area which we were admiring and the owner walked over to show off his prized possession.

The split was fitted with a Subaru engine that he’d swapped out and installed himself, the bus has been modified with hydraulic suspension to alter the ride height. The steering wheel was made from a chain that had been welded together and the vehicle itself was very unique, but such was everything else there!

The Just Kampers outside stall was in full swing as was the indoor stand, and the JK D&S had pride of place in the main entrance hall!

The outdoor stand had plenty on display, the Project 22 can, James’ red T6 and we even had one of our new TentBox Cargo’s to show off!

The event was on all weekend, although we only had tickets for the Saturday. But it’s a great day out and a perfect opportunity to treat the kids and teach them about air cooled vehicles at the same time. There’s ice creams for the young ones and a bar for the adults, everyone is catered for!

Not to mention, everyone went wild for the hot wheels stall, run by Kingfisher Kustoms. I managed to bag myself a vintage skittles Hot Wheels van, a Reece’s Pieces livery Mx5 Hot Wheels and a rare set: Lorry carrying a Lancia Stratos, both in a Gulf livery. So, I was very chuffed with that, they’ll be going straight up on my wall display when I get home!

The day was a great experience and I’d recommend it to anyone! Plus, it’s great to be at an event and see the company you work for, alive as a part of the event; it gives you a lot of pride!

See you at the next one!!
